Our local biosphere covers 9,700km and boasts land with the highest conservation value. In Galloway and South Ayrshire, this includes such places as the wetlands at Silver Flowe and the National Nature Reserve. The Biosphere contains historic industries such as farming communities, forestry and fishing as well as many small businesses in the area, such as us! The biosphere promotes education, employment, conservation and research, tourism and enterprise working hand in hand with conservation and ecology.
